Tell us who you are.[I am] a southern sweetheart with a city mindset of California dreams. I was born in Illinois and raised in Georgia. My creative journey began when I was a little girl sneaking into my mothers closet and trying on her shoes. Throughout grade school, high school and college years my personal style was admired by many of my peers and once I moved to Chicago, I was able to unapologetically express that creativity through my own personal style.
So who am I? I am a girl who loves good quality, timeless fashion. Always have. Always will ; )
What was the first outfit you remember wearing that made you feel fly?
Wow, that’s tough. [HAHA] But if I had to choose, I would have to say my first day of kindergarten fit. It was a “pattern play” suspender skirt with my red and white hair barrette balls. You couldn’t tell me nothin’. lol
Aside from fashion references, what influences your style?
Street style would have to be my biggest influence. One of the reasons I LOVE traveling is to see the different fashion trends on the everyday man/woman.
What three elements define your look? Classy (timeless) , unique & chic.
If you had to wear one outfit for the rest of the year, what would it be?
A pant suit, of course 🙂
Which decade was the most stylish?
The 60’s was definitely my favorite and most stylish era. It was the era of the “IT GIRL”. From Diana Ross and the Supremes, Veruschka, Cher, Twiggy to Jackie O and Audrey Hepburn (just to name a few). The 60’s was feminine and fly.
Do you think fast fashion has had a positive or negative effect on people cultivating a personal sense of style?
I believe “fast fashion” has had a positive effect and b/c of it I see a lot of men and women coloring outside of the lines a little more and taking risk with fashion trends. It’s fun and that’s truly what fashion is all about.
