Meet Nashville based stylist Akilah Moore.
She is a personal and family stylist who believes everyone deserves the resources to serve a LOOK.
How do you define A LOOK?
When I see a look online or in real life, I always do a double take. It’s something that you have to acknowledge. It’s a head to toe execution of the hair, a beat or no beat, the outfit, the shoe, accessories, and the confidence to pull it all together. A look is something unique to you.
Describe your ideal outfit.
My ideal outfit would have to be an oversized jacket of some sort, a pointy-toed stiletto, dark wash bell bottoms, a crop top, chunky gold accessories, my Prada round glasses, and a huge fro. Most of these items will probably be thrifted.
Do you have a favorite fashion time period? If so, what is it and why?
My favorite decade would definitely have to be the 70’s. It is a decade of fashion that I could really wear forever. From the big fros to the bell bottoms, It all just feels natural to me when I channel the 70’s. A lot of fierce women icons came from this time period.
If you could only wear one outfit for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A vintage La Perla lingerie set, oversized fur coat, and a pointy-toed stiletto is a outfit I could wear for the rest of my life.
If you could collaborate with any fashion house or brand, which would it be and why?
I’ve always wanted to do a shoe collaboration with Manolo blahnik. My love for shoes and Sex and the city definitely got me to this answer. I just feel like a beautiful thing would come of that collab.
